Yes. CBD is a 100% naturally-occurring chemical compound that comes directly from the cannabis plant. It is not synthetically made.
An effective dosage is different for every person and can range from as little as 5mg of CBD per day up to 200mg per day. Make sure to start low and go slow. Take a few small doses over the course of the day rather than one big dose. Use the same dose for several days. Observe the effects and if necessary adjust the amount. Don’t overdo it.
The terms Broad Spectrum, Full Spectrum and Isolate refer to the composition of the CBD that has been extracted from the cannabis plant.
Broad spectrum CBD has been extracted from the cannabis plant with all of the other compounds from the plant except for THC. That means it contains other beneficial cannabinoids from the plant (CBG, CBN, CBC, CBD-V), flavonoids, terpenes and other essential amino acids. These products do not contain any THC and as a result do not cause an intoxicating effect.
Full Spectrum CBD contains all of the Broad Spectrum components in addition to a trace amount of THC, less than .3%. This percentage typically does not cause an intoxicating effect because it is such a low amount. All of these cannabinoids working together can boost the overall formula benefits.
Isolate is a form of CBD that is 99% or more pure CBD; other parts of the plant have been removed. CBD by itself does have benefits, however the results may not be as promising as those experienced from a broad or full spectrum product.
There are very few known side effects of CBD and no reported cases of overdosing. When side effects occur from taking excessive amounts (>1500mg), they may include diarrhea, appetite changes, fatigue and blurred vision. CO2 extraction is the best method to extract pure CBD isolate, a state in which it exists as a clear/white crystal. The CO2 extraction method is preferred over other methods because it leaves practically zero traces of chemical contaminants in the end product. Alcohol extraction is another method, wherein a liquid such as ethanol, butane, or hexane is run through raw plant material to extract the CBD and then evaporated to leave only the active cannabinoid. This can be a dangerous method because it’s prone to leaving excess traces of the butane or hexane chemicals in the extract. Infusing oil (i.e. olive oil) is another effective way of extracting CBD. In the oil infusion method, raw plant material is ground up, heated (decarboxylated), and then sits in boiling (100-deg Celsius) oil for about 2 hours.

Drug tests look for THC, the psychoactive cannabinoid found in marijuana. They typically do not test specifically for CBD. However, at this time CBD and THC-9 are difficult to distinguish in field tests and other quantifiable drug tests. As such, we cannot guarantee that a false positive drug test will not occur. Yes. CBD inhibits the cytochrome P450 enzyme, which is involved in metabolizing many drugs. Compounds in grapefruit inhibit the same enzyme group, which is why physicians advise patients not to eat grapefruit shortly before or after taking a medication. By inhibiting cytochrome P450, CBD can either reduce or increase the effects of other drugs. In some situations, it may be advisable for a physician to monitor a patient’s blood levels of other medications while taking CBD.
